Blogstalking

Blog-stalk v. to secretly read someone's blog with the express purpose of learning more about them without their knowledge.

So maybe my favorite thing about friends' blogs is their friends' blogs.  I currently blogstalk 8 people on a regular basis, and one on rare occasion.  Five of those blogs are actually monetized and looking for followers for profit, so that's not so creepy.

Anyway, the one that I stalk on rare occation happens to be an ex.  Anyone else do this?  I look a few times a year to see what has changed for his family, where they are living, etc.  It's kind of like checking to see if all the big talk he sold me ever came true.

Sometimes I read it just to get the sastisfaction of thinking my life is better.  Then my mom tells me I'll burn in hell.  It's not that my life is better in any measurable way, it's just that I'm happy with how it's different.

Do you know people who blogstalk to gloat or blogstalk to covet?  Are you blogstalking us on our new blog right now?  Don't be shy, share some of your creeper experiences!

  1. I don't blog stalk, as you know, because I just don't read a lot of blogs, BUT I do FB stalk people from time to time. Just to see how they are doing and, yes, sometimes to judge them and then wonder what I ever saw in them. :)

  2. Hey...you guys should have something at the top that notates who the author of the post is...

Blog stalk...yep, I do that on occasion. At least, until I got burned....

There's one guy that I always felt a little burned by, which just pissed me off because it's not like he was even the hottest guy I had ever dated. Mostly it was an issue of pride because I didn't like him all the much to begin with, but never-the-less, I saw his wedding announcement and always thought the wife was GORGEOUS! So here we are, 6 years later, and I saw a pic of her...fairly chubby and an uber mormon mommy...ya know the type...I was just starting to feel REALLY good about myself and beginning to really gloat when I found her blog...and suddenly, I realized, I KNOW her! Like as in, not personally, but as in she's mildly famous in certain circles...which I won't disclose as that totally gives it away...and she's ultra successful at what she does, and even frequents certain TV shows as a guest.....

So, the moral of the story is, DON'T Blog stalk! and if you do, don't get greedy!
